Our Story
Hi! My name is William Luu, and together with my best friends Huy, Tu Linh and John Phan we started Luxe Custom Craft in 2024 as a small project from my house. Huy is a polymer engineer and a marketing expert, who has worked in the global market since 2020. And Tu Linh is a wood sculptor, who has had a small wood workplace at his house since 2016 (But he has worked with wood for more than 30 years before having his own workplace).
On a nice day of 2023, after looking online for luxe and unique wood carving things I was disappointed to find nothing that fit my criteria. Every website I came across either had what I liked, had the best wood types, or sold mass produced things that I could see in many stores. That’s not at all what I wanted. So I decided to find a guy who could make wooden things that are just customized for me. This reminded me of my old friend – Tu Linh, an experienced wood sculptor.
First, I just asked Tu Linh to create a few wood carving things for my home. Then, Huy, a marketing expert, saw them when he came to my house. He said: “They look unique, why don’t we sell those things?” This sentence made me Illuminated. I thought: “I was disappointed to find wooden decor things online, maybe so many people too. Selling those wooden decor things to those who are like me is a meaningful career”.
I soon realized I would need a team to help me manufacture the custom wooden things, and a website to be able to process all the orders. Actually, these tasks weren’t easy. I told Huy and Tu Linh about my idea and asked them to join me. Luckily, they liked my idea and we started our career on January 18, 2024 (right after the Lunar New Year holiday). Then, Huy invited one of his friends to join us. His name is John Phan, who lives in Ontario, Canada. John has a nail salon in Ontario and he is willing to help us in doing business in Canada and The US.
We were preparing a space in Luu’s house and Tu Linh’s house, brainstorming new ideas, building a website, organizing everything from the best possible materials to shipping and logistics. After several weeks and many sleepless nights, here we are.
